Flying high in the sky: Exploring the role of urban air mobility in smart cities

Future Mobility
Dirk Hoke

Rapid population growth and increasing urbanisation are impacting the urban quality of life and have led to a range of environmental problems. The concept of smart cities has emerged as a response to these challenges, focusing on the use of technology and innovation to create more sustainable, efficient and liveable urban environments.

Smart cities are the future, and technology is the key. From connected neighbourhoods to digitised energy generation and smart mobility solutions, technology is revolutionising the way we live, work and interact with our surroundings.

One of the companies driving this change is Volocopter. With its innovative aerial taxi service, Volocopter aims to provide sustainable transport in urban areas, reduce traffic congestion and improve connectivity.

Dirk Hoke, CEO of Volocopter, is a pioneer in the aviation industry. Prior to joining Volocopter, he held various leadership positions at Siemens and was CEO of Airbus Defence and Space. Hoke is also a board member of Spire Global and Solaredge and sits on the Voyager Space Advisory Board.

At our upcoming business festival, Dirk Hoke will share his insights on the future of smart cities, the role of technology in shaping urban mobility and Volocopter's contribution to this vision.
