Dr Christian Tutschku

Fraunhofer IAO Head of Team Quantum Computing

Dr. Christian Tutschku is head of the team Quantum Computing in the Digital Business research division of the Fraunhofer IAO. He studied physics and received his PhD in the field of theoretical solid-state physics at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg. He was awarded with the Röntgen Science Prize for his dissertation on the role of quantum anomalies in topological materials.

The focus of his contemporary work is application-oriented quantum software engineering as well as knowledge transfer into the expanding quantum computing ecosystem, e.g. by quantum training programs.

To this end, he coordinates together with the Fraunhofer IAF the "Competence Center Quantum Computing Baden-Württemberg", supporting companies and organizations in preparing for the use of quantum technology. As head of the joint research projects SEQUOIA End-to-End and AutoQML, he actively promotes holistic quantum software engineering and creates the link to interfaces with machine learning methods.
