James McLaughlin

James McLaughlin is a British diplomat, currently the Regional Director of the UK’s Science and Innovation Network (SIN) for Europe, Turkey and Israel as of August 2022. SIN aims to promote UK excellence on science, innovation and technology and boost international cooperation with key strategic partners. James has occupied various roles in the civil service since he joined the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, most recently as the Head of International Engagement and then Deputy Director in the Cabinet Office COP26 Unit (charged with organising the 26th UN Climate Change Conference).  He has also worked at the UK Mission to the UN in Geneva, and also has a background in European Affairs and Africa.
