Ulrike Böttcher

In the past 15 years, the Textile & Surface Designer Ulrike Böttcher has been engaging in the field of the sustainable and slow fashion movement. With integrating  waste streams in her first material development she has been published and exhibited several times. With her experience in design, production and sales management she knows the different angles of the customer and the supply chain. Visiting and working with Indien silk and bag producers also made her realize the lack of ecological supplies for the fashion industry which led her to establish her own venture valupa (founded in Jan.2022). By developing hardware and accessories made out of renewable resources, while optimizing processes with digitalization, valupa supports the shift towards sustainable & circular fashion. Joined by the Co-founder Nina Kahmke, Ulrike has been awarded with valupa to the Guido Reger Gründerpreis and Gründungswettbewerb from BMWK.
